The artist Jim Lee started drawing X-Men in the early 90's, if memory serves it was 1990 issue #248. His art was crazy detailed with a lot of cross hatching and imo, square/cubism style of composition. I really took his work and subsequently incorporated bits and pieces of his style into mine.

This was the first piece I did of his work. Sure it is a direct "copy" of Lee's work but none the less its colorful and true to his style. I was 14 when this was drawn and inked. 18" x 24".

The most bad ass Marvel Villian of them all...MAGNETO!
